House debut at Staatsoper Hamburg

This December, René Barbera makes his house debut at the Staatsoper Hamburg in his signature role of Nemorino, in Ponnelle’s production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore. The first performance takes place on December 27, and they resume in 2026, on January 2, 10 and 25.

The cast also features Nino Machaidze as Adina, Nicholas Mogg as Belcore, Erwin Schrott as and Mariana Poltorak as Giannetta. Omer Meir Wellber and Keren Kagarlitsky conduct.
