Tenor René Barbera will make his Oper Stuttgart house debut as Arturo in I Puritani July 12-24. He first debuted this role at the Opéra National de Paris in 2013, prompting Forum Opera to marvel that “…this young singer has a real voice of tenore di grazia. His luminous timbre and the sumptuous half-tones that he sprinkles his line of song are a balm for the ear…he brilliantly faces the air “Credeasi misera,” unleashing excitement in the room. This is an Arturo in every respect.”
René says of the upcoming performances, “I have been looking forward to singing Arturo in I Puritani again since I last performed it in 2013. That I have the opportunity to perform this role at Oper Stuttgart this summer is thrilling, and I am truly very excited to make my debut there in this wonderful role.”
