‘CLASSICS ON THE PALACE SQUARE’ GALA CONCERT IN SAINT PETERSBURG

René Barbera travels to Saint Petersburg for a gala concert entitled Classics on Palace Square on May 26, held in honor of St. Petersburg’s anniversary. Mikhail Tatarnikov leads the Mikhailovsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra for this magical evening that will include opera classics as well as works by jazz masters and contemporary composers, with music by Verdi, Donizetti, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Dvořák, Offenbach, Nat King Cole, Lucio Dalla, and Igor Krutoy.

Mr. Barbera shares the stage with a sparkling group of colleagues including People’s Artist of Russia soprano Anna Netrebko, tenor Yusif Eyvazov, soprano Maria Aleida, soprano Maria Mudryak, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Sergeeva, tenor Arturo Chacón Cruz, and baritone Alexey Lavrov. The performance on May 26 at 21:00 is a free concert for the public.
